Song Hye Kyo Receives Attention for Not Taking Advantage of Her Celebrity Status

Despite her celebrity status and all the benefits, actress Song Hye Kyo has chosen to pay for the rental costs of her press conference venue.

On April 20, she held a press conference at the Grand Ballroom of the five-star Four Seasons Seoul. The rental rates for Four Seasons Seoul — one of the most luxurious hotels in the city — are estimated to be extremely high.

It has now been revealed that Song Hye Kyo paid for the rent herself without any support from Four Seasons. This is surprising as top stars are commonly offered lower rates or complimentary use of hotel venues.

A representative of her agency UAA confirmed this, saying, “She took care of the entire payment for the venue. No sponsorship was involved. She didn’t reveal her identity [when reserving], and simply told the hotel staff that there’ll be a drama-related meeting.”

“We just recently found about Song Hye Kyo being involved in the event,” a representative of Four Season Seoul commented on the surprising news.

Meanwhile, Song Hye Kyo starred in the recently ended phenomenally popular drama “Descendants of the Sun.”
