Moon Geun Young Reflects on Life After Volunteer Trip to Africa

Arriving back in Korea, Moon Geun Young updated her Instagram with touching reflections on her nine-day trip to Malawi, a country in the southeast of Africa, where she recently completed volunteer work for charity.

She writes as the caption to a photo of herself on her trip, “I’ve made a safe return. I was faced with such kind gazes and bright souls that I became embarrassed at my life. And the fact that I couldn’t give aid made my heart ache with helplessness. Now I will try and think over this. So that their lives can improve a little. So that they can be a little more healthy. I’m trying to find something I can do about it.”

She continued by making a plea to her fans: “I want to protect their genuine happiness, their bright, flawless smiles. I ask this of those who see this caption. With even a little care for these people, you can become a huge source of strength to them… Together, let us protect the innocent smiles of children.”

She worked with international relief and development organization “Good Neighbors,” visiting Malawi with “Hope TV SBS.” There she helped to improve health conditions in the region, with a focus on mothers and children.
