“Show Me The Money 5” Promises More Rappers And More Competition In New Trailer

The fifth season of rap survival show “Show Me the Money” is getting ready for kickoff!

On May 2, Mnet released a trailer for the upcoming season on its official YouTube page. Right from the start, they promise a more intense competition with 9,000 rappers at the first auditions, which were held over two days last March at the Seoul Olympic Park.

Gil, who is one of the producers, says in the opening, “Do we have this many rappers in Korea?” The teaser also shows a glimpse of Timbaland, who will be joining the judges of the show.

But the presence of famous judges and the higher number of people results in fierce competition, with Zion.T saying, “I feel like I should have brought a taser. I felt like I was in danger of my life.”

Cuts of the producers (in teams of Dok2 and The Quiett, Gil and Mad Clown, Simon D and Gray, and Zion.T and Kush) are interspersed with snippets of the rappers themselves. Some famous faces include G2, BeWhy, One, Reddy, Jin Doggae, and Gun, while former finalist Song Mino and former Jewelry member Ha Joo Yeon come to cheer the contestants on.

At the end of the trailer, Jung Joon Ha shouts, “Don’t laugh,” impressing the crowd.

The first episode is scheduled to air on May 13 at 11 p.m. KST. Watch the trailer below:
