Kim Ga Yeon and Lim Yo Hwan Finally Have Wedding Ceremony After 5 Years of Marriage

Actress Kim Ga Yeon and former pro-gamer Lim Yo Hwan have finally had their wedding, five years after registering their marriage.  They had announced plans for the ceremony in February of this year.

The couple registered their marriage in February of 2011, and have only now had their official wedding ceremony, five years later. It was held privately in the Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel on May 8 at 3 p.m. Yoo Jae Suk, who is good friends with Kim Ga Yeon, officiated the wedding.

At a press conference held beforehand, the couple shared their thoughts on the occasion and expressed thanks to Yoo Jae Suk for emceeing the wedding.

During the press conference, Kim Ga Yeon said, “Thank you for coming to our wedding,” and “Thank you so much for congratulating us.” When asked about what it was like to finally have a ceremony after five years, she said, “I thought we may not be able to do it if we pushed it back too much so I’m happy to be able to do it even now.”

Lim Yo Hwan said, “Our timing was off when I was active as a pro-gamer, and we couldn’t have our wedding then. After that, my wife got pregnant so the timing wasn’t good either,” and “Now everything has fallen into place, including Mr. Yoo Jae Suk’s schedule. It seems there’s no better time for us to have our wedding than now.”

When asked about their plans after the wedding, both replied that they want to live well.

The actress commented, “As today is the day of our formal wedding ceremony, it feels a bit unusual for me,” and, “If I felt like just a normal wife up until now, then from now on I want to become one that is a bit more dedicated.” She continued, smiling bashfully, “After this occasion, I will consider and care for my husband’s needs even more and will try to be a bit gentler.”

Lim Yo Hwan said, “We were already raising a family before having our actual wedding ceremony. It’s been a long time that we’ve been together. Now, I will have a stronger sense of responsibility and will work harder to provide for my family. We promise to live happily.”

Kim Ga Yeon and Lim Yo Hwan first met in 2008 at a sports event, and started a relationship despite their eight year difference in age.
