Girls' Generation's Tiffany Reveals Insights Into Tracks On Her New Solo Album

Tiffany of Girls’ Generation has now dropped her solo mini album and title track MV, but before their official release on May 11 at midnight KST, she talked about just how challenging the process really was.

On May 10, at the SMTOWN Coex Artium, Tiffany held a showcase for her new solo mini album “I Just Wanna Dance.”

Tiffany talks about one of her tracks called “Fool,” saying, “The staff and I decided on a rule that we have to like the song within three seconds of listening to it. It’s a calm and dreamy song that’ll be really good for a drive in the evening. But compared to how it sounds, making the song was so difficult that it took the longest to produce.”

Talking about her self-composed song “What Do I Do,” Tiffany shares, “Ever since 2014, I’ve been composing and writing songs. My company is really strict about lyrics and music but this song went through that process and was picked. I sent over six songs but only one passed the test.”

She adds, “In the midst of all this, I received lyrics from several lyricists but came to find out that Sooyoung’s was picked. So it’s even more meaningful. Even when we recorded the song, Sooyoung came and helped to produce it. I hope there will be more songs that I can work on with my members.”

Her solo debut track “I Just Wanna Dance” has a 1980s retro sound mixed with contemporary dance and is a fun medium tempo electro-pop song.

What do you think of the tracks on Tiffany’s debut solo mini album?
