"Signal" Achieves New Round Of Popularity In China

The much-loved tvN drama “Signal” is currently making a successful round in China.

The Beijing office of the Korean Creative Content Agency stated on June 17, “‘Signal’ has been broadcast on the Chinese video site Tencent since April 18. In one month it received 61 million views and achieved a place in the Top 10 most popular dramas. Currently the accumulated view count is over 100 million.”

Unlike “Descendants of the Sun,” which aired a slightly different version in China than Korea, all sixteen episodes of “Signal” have been unchanged from the domestic version.

The audience rating for “Signal” among Tencent users is currently 9.6 out of 10.

“Signal” is a fantasy thriller drama starring Kim Hye Soo, Jo Jin Woong, and Lee Je Hoon about a group of police officers who communicate between the past and the future using a mysterious radio in order to solve a case.

In Korea, the drama started its run in January with 6.3 percent viewership ratings and by its last episode had reached 13.4 percent. At its peak, it had achieved 15 percent.
