“Boys24” Contestant Oh Jin Suk Talks About Being a YG Trainee

On June 18, the new Mnet survival program “Boys24” aired its first episode and chose its Top 7 contestants.

One of the trainees on the show was Oh Jin Suk, who appeared on the dance survival show “Dancing 9” in 2013. Lee Minwoo, who was on the show with him, recognized and greeted him warmly.

“I became a trainee with YG Entertainment after ‘Dancing 9,’” Oh Jin Suk said. “I didn’t know when I was going to debut. I prepared to go back to an ordinary life before I heard about ‘Boys24.’ I thought that if I do well here, I could finally debut. It’s my final chance.”

He then showed off his dance and rap. Ha Hwi Dong said, “There aren’t any hard moves but it looks cool.” Vasco was less complimentary, saying, “Your pronunciation and diction is a bit lacking. You keep smiling but the lyrics don’t suit that. These are small problems so you can upgrade soon.”

“Boys24” tests 49 male trainees and sorts them into units to compete for the best unit. The top 24 will perform concerts for one year after the show.
