"The Handmaiden" And "The Wailing" Chosen As Two Of The Best Movie Posters From Cannes

In CNN’s recent list of the top 20 best movie posters from the 69th Cannes Film Festival, South Korean films “The Handmaiden” and “The Wailing” are highly lauded for their aesthetically pleasing designs.

The teaser poster for “The Handmaiden” was actually selected as the best movie poster of them all by CNN, who praises it for being “beautiful and stylish.” The four main characters are depicted as illustrations while embodiments of pine and cherry trees cover the foreground. It draws attention for its sleek and modern design with traditional influences.

CNN also highly praises “The Wailing”‘s main poster for its esthetics that remain true to its country of origin. They also comment, “Sadly, it was not displayed at the festival itself.”

Meanwhile, both movies were shown at Cannes, and are being highly acclaimed worldwide. “The Handmaiden” also vied for the Palme d’Or in the main competition section of the festival.
