“Tunnel” Maintains First Place At Box Office For Third Week In A Row
Summer blockbuster film “Tunnel” continues its winning streak at the box office for the 17th day in a row.
According to a source’s statement on August 27, an impressive number of 134,870 people bought attendance tickets for the movie on August 26 alone, even though its been almost three weeks since opening.
Since its release on August 10, the movie has marked 5,750,118 in ticket sales alone. It reached the 5 million mark in less than two weeks previously.
“Tunnel” tells the tale of the efforts to rescue a man (played by Ha Jung Woo) who gets stuck in a recently built tunnel after it collapses on him. Directed by Kim Sung Hoon of “A Hard Day,” the film also stars Bae Doona and Oh Dal Su.
Meanwhile, US horror movie “Lights Out” and historical film “The Last Princess” are currently ranked second and third at the box office respectively.
