Lee Byung Hun Talks About His Friendship With Ethan Hawke

On September 12, Lee Byung Hun attended a press conference for his upcoming film “The Magnificent Seven.”

During the press conference, the actor spoke about his friendship with co-star Ethan Hawke, saying, “Billy Rocks (Lee Byung Hun’s character) and Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke’s character) are portrayed as friends that are like inseparable brothers. And so in reality, because of our roles, we were in a situation where we really got to know each other and became close. Even on days when we didn’t have filming, we would meet to have a drink once in a while.”

He continued, saying, “Ethan Hawke’s family would visit the set, and so we had a lot of time to get to know each other as well. Even on the last day of filming, he gave Chris Pratt and I the first edition of his third published book as a gift. I was thankful for it because it was a meaningful thing. Because I went from being a fan to becoming a friend of such a great actor, I was so happy.”

Lee Byung Hun’s film “The Magnificent Seven” is about seven outlaws who team up to avenge a young woman and help a poor village fight against a greedy industrialist. The wild action blockbuster also stars Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawke, and is set to release in America on September 23.
