Girls' Generation's Hyoyeon Opens Up About Rivalry During Her SM Trainee Days

On the September 21 episode of Mnet dance competition show “Hit the Stage,” the contestants prepare stages based on the concept of “The Fight.”

During the show, Girls’ Generation member Hyoyeon opens up about how the concept relates to her personal experience as a trainee at SM Entertainment.

” I fought a lot with myself,” Hyoyeon shares. “After getting into SM Entertainment as a trainee, there were weekly and monthly evaluations, which were a time for us to choose how to show off our appeal, so although the other trainees were my friends, they were also my rivals.”

She continues, “Even after I debuted, there were a lot of things I had to do, and a lot of things I had to be people-conscious about. There were hard times, but I was able to forget [about my struggles] when I danced.”
