Watch: TWICE's Chaeyoung And Tzuyu Catch The "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen" Fever
Chaeyoung and Tzuyu join in on the “PPAP (Pen Pineapple Apple Pen)” craze!
The TWICE girls do their own take on a confusing but catchy song going viral on social media. On September 29 and 30, the girl group’s Youtube and V Live accounts shared a hilarious clip featuring their youngest members Chaeyoung and Tzuyu jamming to “PPAP.”
As the two lip-sync and follow the moves to the song, they momentarily burst into laughter but attempt to keep straight faces for most of the video.
On August 25, the original “PPAP” video was uploaded on Youtube by Japanese comedian DJ Kosaka Daimaou as a fictional character named Piko-Taro. It has attracted more than 10 million views in only a month, with the view count at 12.5 million as of this writing.
In the one-minute and eight-second video, DJ Kosaka Daimoau dons a leopard print outfit as he grooves to “PPAP,” singing, “Apple pen, pineapple pen. Pen pineapple apple pen.”
With The New York Times, CNN, and other mainstream U.S. media outlets dubbing it “the next ‘Gangnam Style,'” the earworm continues to spread like wildfire further around the world.
