Watch: SHINee Belts Out A Classic g.o.d Hit And Onew Shows Off His Passionate Rapping For Charity
SHINee has put their talents to good use to help those in need!
On October 27, SBS’s Hope TV shared a clip of the five guys of SHINee taking on a karaoke challenge for charity. Kim Tae Woo of g.o.d was a previous contestant on the show, and he sent a video message to Jonghyun in which he nominated SHINee to be up next.
The guys decide to sing g.o.d’s 2001 hit “Lie” for their challenge, and Jonghyun shows off his vocal talents in the first verse before Onew ends up grabbing the mic for the rap part. He gets hilariously passionate about it before the other guys join in to rap along with him.
In the end, the guys get a score of 77, which they’re a bit disappointed about. “I guess working hard while singing is meaningless!” jokes Jonghyun. However, they’re happy when they find out that it means that the show will donate 770,000 won (approximately $671) in their name to help children with rare diseases.
Jonghyun then asks Minho who he thinks they should nominate to do the challenge. “What about Youngbae?” asks Minho, and Jonghyun thinks he means Taeyang from BIGBANG. “No no,” says Minho, “Soran’s Go Youngbae!”, which makes Jonghyun laugh.
