I.O.I's Jung Chaeyeon Will Make You Feel So Much Better About Exams

Everyone knows that the Korean national college entrance exams are hell for high schoolers. To make the brutal exams just a little bit less so, I.O.I’s Jung Chaeyeon and star CEO Cha Gil Young of SevenEdu, a site offering online courses, revealed an exam cheer song for students.

The two used the tune from Lee Seung Gi and Kim Yuna’s song “Smile Boy,” which was a cheer song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In an interview about supporting students for their exams, Jung Chaeyeon said she experienced a lot of nerve-wracking situations during “Produce 101”: “During my first performance, I received a great response for the ending, even being called the ‘ending fairy.’ After that, I tried so hard during the endings, but the more I wanted that recognition, the less I got it. Letting go of expectations, enjoying every second of the experience, and wanting to leave no regrets gave me better results in the end.”

Jung Chaeyeon said she personally likes math, and loved the satisfaction of solving problems others could not. “Rather than memorization, studying for the purpose of understanding helped a lot when I couldn’t remember formulas.”

Leaving a final message for students while dancing to I.O.I’s “Very Very Very,” she said, “All the students preparing for the exam, you’re doing very very very well, so take care of yourselves and I hope you do very very very well on test day.”

The 2017 Korean national college entrance exam will be held on November 17.
