Lee Joon Takes Part In Protest Calling For President Park Geun Hye's Resignation

On November 19, Lee Joon revealed through his Instagram that he was participating in a protest that took place near Gwanghwamun and encouraged others to come out as well.

This candlelit protest was the fourth rally this month that demanded President Park Geun Hye resign from office following her corruption scandal involving Choi Soon Sil.

The actor posted photos periodically from the protest to update everyone on its progress. He first wrote, “Right now, there is 250,000 [people] at Gwanghwamun. They say today’s goal is 500,000 [people]. Please gather quickly!” Lee Joon continued later on, “Even if it rains, [the protest] will go on. Please come out~”

“I also came since my drama has finished. The atmosphere here is really something. At times like this, we must combine our efforts,” he said in his final post of the night. Lee Joon also addressed the president and firmly stated, “You should resign now.”

Lee Joon is not the only celebrity to actively speak out against the current South Korean president; actor Yoo Ah In was also reportedly at the protest and other celebrities such as singer Lee Seung Hwan, Lee Hyori, actor Shin Hyun Joon, and entertainer Kim Je Dong have openly shared their opinions about the current state of politics in South Korea.

Meanwhile, Lee Joon recently starred in MBC’s “Woman With a Suitcase,” which ended on November 15. Check out the first episode on Viki!
