T-ara Looks Back On The Past Seven Years Of Their Career

Girl group T-ara, who debuted in 2009, have seen huge ups and downs in their career trajectories over the past seven years.

They recently returned with their eleventh mini-album “Remember” and the title track “TIAMO.”

The lyrics of “TIAMO” talk about never letting go of someone’s hand and wanting to be with them no matter where they went. “As soon as we heard the song, we thought it expressed how we felt towards our fans,” Eunjung said. “The lyrics made us choke up.”

“Rather than a ‘confession’ song, it’s a ‘reply’ song,” Hyomin said. “We wanted to respond with thanks to our fans.”

Although Eunjung mentioned that they have gone through hard times with scandals and rumors, Hyomin said, “I think we lived a good life so far. We say this among ourselves sometimes. People experience hard things in life, and not just celebrities. Since we were together, we were able to mature together.”

Soyeon added, “We spent most of our 20’s as part of T-ara. They say that the memories of your 20’s will stay with you forever and ours is full of ‘T-ara’ moments.”

About their recent career trajectory, Hyomin said, “I think we’re a very lucky group. We debuted in Korea during a time when there were so many other girl groups and received a lot of love. We got to debut in Japan at the height of the Hallyu wave and now we get calls for Chinese appearances too.”

“It wasn’t something we planned, but we just went with the flow and got positive results,” Eunjung added. “I think we will continue to do that in the future.”
