EXO's Lay Honestly Shares Why He Doesn't Film Real Kiss Scenes In Dramas

EXO’s Lay recently opened up about his honest feelings on having kiss scenes in dramas.

On November 29, he met with Chinese reporters to talk about his new drama “Operation Love.” The Chinese drama is a remake of the popular Japanese drama about a man who travels back in time to change his fate with his first love. “Operation Love” was also remade into the Korean drama “Operation Proposal,” which stars Yoo Seung Ho and Park Eun Bin.

“Operation Love” is the first time that Lay has taken the lead role in a melodrama. When asked if there was anything he was concerned about, he shared, “Maybe it’s because I’m quite traditional and conservative, but having kiss scenes in dramas is a bit difficult for me to understand, especially because it’s something you do in a relationship. I don’t think it’s good for both sides. While it might be a psychological problem for me, I think there are a few dramas that overuse kiss scenes for no reason. I think it’s a bit irresponsible and I find it hard to understand.”

He continued, “For this reason, I’ve never filmed a real kiss scene. If I did, it was usually just filmed to look like a real kiss scene.”

Meanwhile, Lay has been active in both Korea and China in his promotions as a singer and actor. Last month, he released his solo album “Lose Control.”
