"Sister's Slam Dunk" Cast Bids The Show Goodbye With Advice On Attaining Dreams

Ra Mi Ran, Kim Sook, Hong Jin Kyung, Min Hyo Rin, and Jessi said their farewells to “Sister’s Slam Dunk” on its final episode.

During the December 2 broadcast of KBS2’s “Sister’s Slam Dunk,” the ladies sat down for individual interviews on their last meeting, where they shared their thoughts on their journey of achieving dreams through the show.

Kim Sook remarked that knowing one’s dream is already half the battle, and that one should wait for the right opportunity without hurrying. She said, “I didn’t have a clear dream until my mid-20s. It took me 7 years to feel that I really wanted to be a comedian. A lot of people already know their dreams. Those people have already half succeeded.”

She continued, “However, achieving that dream is not going to be easy. The first step to success comes with luck. Don’t be in a rush and wait for that opportunity. When someone close to you succeeds, applaud them. You can be jealous, but don’t resent them. A woman isn’t another woman’s enemy. A woman is another woman’s comrade.”

Meanwhile, Jessi emphasized love of oneself and explained, “When I came to Korea when I was 14 years old, I was scolded and badmouthed a lot. Not everyone can love you. Don’t be afraid of that fact and don’t worry about others. You have to love yourself. Because if you love yourself, you can love other people too.”

For Min Hyo Rin, perseverance is key. She said, “At 31 years old, I dreamed of being a girl group member. When I look back at that time, I still feel a high that’s hard to explain. I think that if you don’t give up on your dream and believe that you will achieve it someday, you will.”

Hong Jin Kyung shared that she would write down her goals everyday. She recalled, “There was a time when I felt far away from my dreams. To slowly get closer to it, I would note down the steps that I can do first, and crossed them off one by one. Somehow I got closer to my dream while doing that. I really did achieve my dream.”

Finally, Ra Mi Ran expressed her gratefulness for her castmates and shared, “Through the other members’s dreams, I also experienced a new world. Coming here empty, I was filled up and found my dreams in others’s dreams. I’ve done so many things that I thought I never could at the age of 42.” She added, teary eyed, “Our members Sook, Jin Kyung, Hyo Rin, Jessi, and Tiffany, you all worked hard.”
