“The List” Ranks Stars Who Conquered 2016 Including Park Bo Gum, TWICE, And More
tvN’s “The List” recently compiled their list of stars who have conquered 2016 and made this year their own.
The first place went to none other than Park Bo Gum. Park Bo Gum started the year with “Reply 1988,” which quickly elevated his status to a top actor. He followed that up with the hit drama “Moonlight Drawn By Clouds,” which catapulted into first place in TV ratings during its run. He extended his popularity overseas as an international star, collecting nine awards from this year alone. He is also a popular advertisement model, with 12 endorsements to his name.
Second place was comedian Yang Se Hyung. He guested on the popular variety show “Infinite Challenge” in April, and although he is not yet confirmed as a fixed cast member, he has been appearing each week on the show, even earning kudos from Yoo Jae Suk. In addition to “Infinite Challenge,” he is also on “SNL Korea” as well as eight other shows. He also has several endorsement contracts.
Third place was the trending girl group TWICE. Starting with the track “Like OOH-AHH,” the group won their first newcomer award just 44 days after debuting, and they have continued their string of hits with “CHEER UP” and “TT.” They also took the top place in brand reputation rankings for November, and have over 10 endorsement contracts to their name.
Fourth place went to actress Ra Mi Ran. From starring in dramas such as “Reply 1988” and “Laurel Tree Tailors,” to being in variety shows like “Sisters’ Slam Dunk,” Ra Mi Ran has been busy in 2016. Moreover, all of her shows and movies have been met with great commercial success. She has five endorsement contracts and has definitely increased her star presence since her debut over 10 years ago.
Shinhwa’s leader Eric, took the fifth spot. His drama “Another Oh Hae Young” won him an award at the tvN10 Awards, and his appearance on the popular variety show “Three Meals a Day” has earned him the nickname “Chef Eric.” In addition, he has also been active in the music industry with Shinhwa, who released the first part of their 13th full album in November.
Sixth place went to comedienne Kim Sook. She is currently riding on the popularity of her fixed variety show appearance on JTBC’s “With You” with Yoon Jung Soo as well as “Sisters’ Slam Dunk,” which cemented her rise as a star. She has 10 fixed show appearances this year and is also active on the radio with Song Eun Yi. She also has her own online shopping mall and has received more than 20 endorsement deals.
Singer-turned-actor Seo In Guk was placed seventh. Seo In Guk released his self-composed song “Seasons of the Heart” in March and has been busy in the acting world with dramas such as “Squad 38” and “Shopping King Louie.”
Finally, eighth place went to actress Jun Ji Hyun. After “My Love From the Star,” she continued her reign in movies with “Assassination.” She is also currently starring in the hit drama “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” and is popular as an endorsement model, with 14 deals to her name.
