"We Got Married" PD Hints At Gong Myung And Jung Hye Sung's Romantic Possibilities

In an interview on December 7, Heo Hang, the producing-director (PD) of the MBC variety show “We Got Married,” had a chat with reporters about the show’s newest couple, Gong Myung of 5surprise and Jung Hye Sung.

He clarified that the couple was not cast because of their previous pairing on “My Ear’s Candy,” a tvN reality program where celebrities befriend an anonymous “Candy” over the phone as they go about their daily lives.

“One of the two told us during the [pre-casting] meeting that they had chosen the other person as their ideal type ever since ‘My Ear’s Candy’. We also felt that their characters would match very well,” explained the PD.

He also said that there were comments on how the previous set of couples (Eric Nam and MAMAMOO’s Solar, MADTOWN’s Jota and Kim Jin Kyung, and Choi Tae Joon and APink’s Bomi) were rather similar, so the program is now aiming for diversity with the new couples, each of whom will have their own unique dynamics.

“The show has been around for a long time, so it is unavoidable for a pattern to emerge. There will also be many moments that viewers will get too used to seeing. However, we will be attempting gradual changes along the way.”

Gong Myung and Jung Hye Sung’s first meeting will be unveiled on December 10, but in the meantime, you can watch the latest episode of “We Got Married” below!
