Kim Hyun Joong And Ex-Girlfriend Going Back To Court In January

The legal battle between Kim Hyun Joong and his ex-girlfriend, Ms. Choi, is not over. The two will be back in court on January 11, 2017 for the first trial of the appeal filed by Ms. Choi.

Previously, in August 2016, Ms. Choi lost her 1.6 billion won (approximately $1.4 million) lawsuit against Kim Hyun Joong, in which she had accused him of causing miscarriage due to assault and forcing her to get an abortion. At the time, the court stated that there was not enough evidence to prove Ms. Choi’s claims true.

Though Kim Hyun Joong’s side also failed to prove claims that Ms. Choi had threatened him with taking news of her miscarriage public, Ms. Choi was ordered to compensate Kim Hyun Joong in the amount of 100 million won (approximately $86,000) for defamation, having done an interview with KBS in which she made unproved claims about a second pregnancy and miscarriage.
