SHINee's Minho Talks About Preparing For "Hwarang" Action Scenes

SHINee’s Minho has stepped up to the challenges of shooting “Hwarang” and its many action scenes.

During a press conference for the drama this week, the actor-singer discussed working with the historical genre for the first time as the hot-blooded and optimistic Sooho.

When discussing what first drew him into the project, Minho mentioned that he thought it seemed “really fresh” compared to other historical dramas. “There was also the thought of ‘What am I going to do if I have to wear historical clothes!’ But ultimately, I was attracted to the idea of working with these actors,” he confessed before going into exactly what playing the role entailed.

To prepare for the role of a Hwarang warrior, Minho revealed that he had to learn how to ride a horse and even attend action school, where he met with a martial arts instructor.

“I worked hard with the instructor to make sure the results looked good,” he explained, adding that the drama’s action scenes will be “unlike anything seen before in other dramas.”
