"Hwarang" PD Talks About Why He Cast BTS's V

On December 16, KBS2’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Hwarang” held a press conference at Imperial Palace Hotel.

Producing director Yoon Seong Sik was asked about why he decided to cast Kim Taehyung (BTS’s V).

Yoon Seong Sik said, “We needed a pure and bright image for the character Han Seong. An untainted innocence was desired.”

He continued, “I fell for [Kim Taehyung] at first glance during our first meeting. He looks so cute and he’s playfully adorable. I was worried because he doesn’t have acting experience; furthermore, it’s a historical drama. However, I thought that he could easily be trained after the script read-through.”
