Park Seo Joon Is Just As Excited As Anyone Else For His First Historical Drama "Hwarang"

During the press conference for KBS 2TV’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Hwarang” on December 16, Park Seo Joon talked about how he feels being in a historical drama.

The actor revealed why he decided to appear on the drama, and said, “It’s my first time doing a historical drama. I never got a chance to do one until now and I chose ‘Hwarang’ because it’s already December. I’m going to be 30 soon (by Korean reckoning). I wanted to end my 20s in a great way with a youthful drama.”

He continued, “I was very worried because it’s a historical drama. The background settings are very different [than what I’ve been used to].” While the actor has always filmed in metropolitan settings, “Hwarang” is based more in nature, and involves riding horses and shooting arrows.

“I took a long time preparing for this since it marked so many firsts for me. Because I prepared longer than any other works I’ve done, I’m very confident. I had a good time filming and got to befriend many great people.”
