UNIQ’s Agency Yuehua Releases Official Statement After Manager Is Charged With Embezzlement
One of UNIQ’s Chinese managers is being investigated for embezzlement.
On January 9, the group’s agency, Yuehua Entertainment, released an official statement to explain the situation. The agency stated, “A manager from our office in China exploited their position and misused the company’s property. The company has reported to law enforcement authorities, and the manager has been charged with suspicion of illegal activity. They will be held responsible in accordance with the law.”
According to one media source, the Chinese manager for UNIQ’s Yibo worked with another co-worker from Yuehua Entertainment to embezzle one million yuan (approximately $144,200), and the two are currently being investigated.
Meanwhile, UNIQ debuted in 2014 with “Falling In Love” and consists of five members including Sungjoo, Seungyoun, Wenhan, Yibo, and Yixuan.
