B1A4's Jinyoung Discusses Songwriting And Royalties On "1 vs. 100"

B1A4’s Jinyoung recently talked about his work as a songwriter, also touching upon whether he splits the royalties of his songs with his fellow B1A4 members.

Jinyoung appeared on KBS 2TV’s “1 vs. 100” on January 10, and battled 100 people in a quiz to win 50 million won (approximately $41,700).

On this day, the MC commented, “I heard you’re the idol with the most solo song compositions. They say your nickname is ‘Jin-thoven.’ You must earn quite a lot in royalties. Do you share that income with your fellow [B1A4] members?” In 2016, Jinyoung had the most solo compositions registered with the Korea Music Copyright Association as an idol singer.

Jinyoung replied, “I don’t share the royalties for my compositions because it’s my own creative work.”
