Choa Clarifies AOA Splitting Up Income From Individual Activities

AOA’s Choa shed light on a misunderstanding about her group’s division of income.

On January 12, she and fellow member Mina appeared as guests on SBS PowerFM’s “Bae Sung Jae’s Ten.”

The ladies are currently promoting their first full Korean album “Angel’s Knock,” which was released on January 2 and features double title songs “Excuse Me” and “Bing Bing.” DJ Bae Sung Jae remarked, “How high do you think your new tracks will rank?”

Choa responded, “To be honest, I don’t think it will rank exceptionally well. However, we’ve taken a really long break, so we think this is an album to remind people who may have forgotten about us who we are. We’re also trying a new style through this album and there are two title songs, so I think the fans who have waited for us will like it.”

The girls were then asked what goal they wish to achieve during this round of promotional activities, and Mina answered, “In any case, I wish our name would become more known through our promotions, and that our concert will be a full house.”

During the broadcast, Choa also said, “There’s an issue that’s been the talk of the town since it aired that I wanted to speak about here. It was reported that the members evenly split Seolhyun’s individual earnings. I asked Seolhyun and because she’s still young, she’s not very familiar with [all the details]. It’s not the case [that we evenly split her earnings].”

Choa continued to explain, “I can’t reveal much because of our contract, but there shouldn’t be any more controversy about it. We also know Seolhyun worked hard, so of course we can’t split it equally.”

On the January 2 episode of “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,” Seolhyun mentioned that the AOA members equally share the income earned from each of their respective individual projects.
