BEAST's Yoon Doo Joon Explains Why He Wouldn't Want His Son To Be An Idol

BEAST’s Yoon Doo Joon opened up about some of his struggles while living as an idol.

On a recent episode of JTBC’s “Package Tour Around the World” (working title), Yoon Dooo Joon joined Kim Sung Joo, Kim Yong Man, and Ahn Jung Hwan on a trip to Switzerland on behalf of Jung Hyung Don who had a family emergency to attend to.

As they sat on the summit of Mount Rigi, the cast sat and chatted over coffee.

Seeing how the BEAST member only responded with more reserved answers, and seemed unable to speak his true feelings, Kim Sung Joo expressed his sympathy and carefully remarked, “Being an idol doesn’t seem to necessarily be a good job.”

Yoon Doo Joon clarified, “Becoming an idol is something I’ve never once regretted, and is something I enjoy and like.”

However, when Kim Sung Joo asked him if he would encourage a future son to follow his footsteps, Yoon Doo Joon answered, “I would never make him become an idol.”

The singer explained, “When you’re an idol, your environment doesn’t change consistently. Instead, everything changes all at once. It’s a job that involves many things other than what meets the eye.”

Yoon Doo Joon then shared, “Having gone out of the confines of my agency this year, I thought I felt scared for the first time.”

After hearing the idol’s sentiments, Kim Sung Joo offered his heartfelt advice and support to the singer, based on his experience freelancing after he had also left his company.

Meanwhile, Yoon Doo Joon’s appearance on “Package Tour Around the World” will continue on its January 31 broadcast.
