Watch: BTOB's Yook Sungjae Discovers His Least Favorite Food

When it comes to fermented seafood, Yook Sungjae is simply not a fan!

On SBS’s January 30 reality special “Clench Your Fist and Blow The Boat Horn,” the BTOB member tried eating skate fish for the first time with hilarious results.

During the episode, the cast members ventured to Heuksan Island, off the Southwest coast of South Korea, where fermented skate fish is a regional delicacy. The dish is notorious for its strong ammonia smell and the wasabi-like burning sensation it sends through the nose when eaten.

Needless to say, when he first held the skate fish up to his nose, he put it back on his place quickly and replied, “I can’t eat this.” However, as the idol was sitting across the table from the locals who had specially prepared the dish for him, he mussed up some courage. Pairing the skate fish with some pork and a piece of kimchi (a combination known as samhab), he picked it up again, and carefully took a bite.

His curiosity quickly turned into disgust, and as Yook Sungjae chewed, his face immediately began turning red.

“I don’t think I can eat this!,” he announced as he winced through every bite. “What kind of flavor is this?!”
