Casting For Movie Adaptation Of “Cheese In The Trap” Deemed Problematic By Fans
The casting of the four main characters for the movie version of “Cheese in the Trap” has been finalized. Filming for the movie adaptation of the popular webtoon, which was initially adapted into a drama in 2016, is set to begin in April of this year.
Fans have known for a while that actor Park Hae Jin would reprise his role as Yoo Jung. Actress Oh Yeon Seo will be joining him in the role of Hong Seol, while actor Park Ki Woong will be playing the role of Baek In Ho. Furthermore, actress Yoo In Young has been confirmed to play the part of Baek In Ha, which rounds out the casting for the main characters.
However, many are calling the casting problematic as the characters are supposed to be college students but the actors are much older than anticipated.
Park Hae Jin, who will be playing the role of the titular male character, will be 35 years old this year. Although he looks much younger than his age reveals, Park Hae Jin received criticism even when playing the role in the drama adaptation because of the large age gap between him and the rest of his cast members.
Oh Yeon Seo, who will play the role of the female protagonist, will be 31 years old this year. Many are comparing her to Kim Go Eun, who played the same role in the drama adaptation and is four years younger than the actress.
Furthermore, Park Ki Woong and Yoo In Young are both 33 and 34 years old, respectively.
Although the actors are all very talented and will be able to portray the roles well, many are disappointed that the actors were not cast more realistically.
