SBS, KBS, And MBC Make Changes To Regular TV Schedule To Cover President's Impeachment Verdict

MBC, SBS, and KBS are set to change their broadcasting schedules on March 10 as the Constitutional Court will make its final verdict on President Park Geun Hye’s impeachment.

MBC will be airing a “Breaking news special” series from 7:50 a.m. KST till 6:55 p.m. KST, immediately followed by a special edition of MBC’s “News Desk.” The night will conclude with segments titled “Emergency conversation” and “Breaking news special” from 8:55 p.m. KST till 12:35 a.m. KST the following morning.

MBC will be replacing over 16 hours of their normal broadcasting schedule with news segments, meaning that it will cancel the airing of “Golden Pouch” and variety shows like “Duet Song Festival” and “I Live Alone” on March 10.

SBS will also be following a similar route, airing their “Breaking news special” series from 9:00 a.m. KST till 12:10 a.m. KST the following morning for a total of over 15 hours. This means that all regular programs following their morning drama “I’m Sorry Gangnam-gu” will be cancelled, including “Curious Story Y,” “Law of the Jungle,” and “My Ugly Duckling.”

KBS will be airing their news special on KBS 1TV. KBS 2TV will be following its regular broadcasting schedule except its relatively bright and exciting music variety shows. “Music Bank” will be replaced with “PD Lee Wook Jung’s Meal Full of Nature” and “Battle Trip.” From 8:30 p.m. KST, “Singing Battle – Victory” will be replaced with a special episode of “Men Who Do Housework.”

This is in accordance with the fact that the verdict on President Park Geun Hye’s impeachment by the Constitutional Court will be made at 11 a.m. KST on March 10.
