EXO-CBX To Make Official Japanese Debut

EXO-CBX will be officially debuting in Japan!

Consisting of members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin, the EXO sub-unit revealed the exciting news through a live broadcast held on messaging application Line on March 10, as reported by Japanese news outlet Nikkan Sports.

EXO-CBX first appeared on the music scene as a unit in October 2016 with their first mini album “Hey Mama!,” which saw great success on the charts. The album alone holds the record of highest number of physical sales by a sub-unit with over 278,000 copies sold.

For their Japanese debut, EXO-CBX will be releasing a whole new mini album, which reportedly will consist of an entirely brand new title track. During a live screening event on March 11, the trio hinted that it was a really addictive track, and explained that they were currently recording the rest of the album.

As for promotions, Chen revealed in a short interview with Nikkan Sports that their goal (as both EXO and EXO-CBX) for 2017 was to hold fan meetings in various regions, and expressed his hope that they could do so in Japan as well.

Meanwhile, EXO will be holding their annual large-scale, three-day “EXO-L Japan” fan event in May as well, and fellow member Kai will be starring as the lead role in a Japanese drama, “Spring Has Come” (tentative title).
