The 11 Best Random Play Dances Of 2016

Every week, “Weekly Idol” has a challenging segment called “Random Play Dance,” which many idol groups and singers actually prepare and practice for prior to going on the show. Or not. It’s a segment where artists have to do the choreography for the exact parts of the songs being played, and in quick succession. The MCs are ruthless, and most of the time, there are punishments if the group or artist messes up, which obviously makes it a joy for us viewers to watch.

Let’s have a look at just some of the best Random Play Dance segments that made us laugh and impressed us in 2016.

1. GFRIEND

GFRIEND is known to be amazing at Random Play Dance whenever they come on the show. I couldn’t stop laughing at SinB’s constant wandering around whenever she couldn’t get the moves quick enough!

2. Red Velvet

Seulgi continuously making mistakes was a gem. I love it when a member looks so confused when their song comes on.

3. Park Jin Young

What an epic appearance and trip down memory lane. All these JYP songs are K-pop anthems! Just waiting for the day when YG’s Yang Hyun Suk comes on the show.

4. INFINITE

INFINITE takes the cake for most mistakes but looking good while doing it. It was also fun watching the members trip over each other, hit each other, and gang up on their leader, Sunggyu.

5. Akdong Musician

These two are known to have lots of chemistry because they’re siblings — look at how in-sync they are! They’re so cute and entertaining!

6. TWICE

TWICE was so much fun to watch on “Weekly Idol”! Their dance moves and personalities are seriously too cute.

7. BLACKPINK

A lot was riding on the line for BLACKPINK to succeed in Random Play Dance. But, can we just take a minute to appreciate Lisa’s amazing dancing skills?

8. NCT 127

I love seeing K-pop groups cover other group’s songs. NCT 127 did an amazing job covering dances from their fellow SM groups.

9. 4TEN, ASTRO, KNK

The adorable rookie edition Random Play Dance was hilarious to watch, especially seeing KNK mess up every time it was their turn! On a side note, ASTRO’s dancing is so sharp and clean — impressive.
