7 Easter Eggs You Missed In K-Dramas

Let the easter egg hunting begin!

Goblin

Before Gong Yoo was in “Goblin,” he starred in the hit Korean zombie flick “Train to Busan.” There’s a scene where Gong Yoo’s character, Kim Shin, watches the movie with Eun Tak, and he is hilariously terrified.

My Love From the Star

The meta is strong in this one. One of the more obvious references was during the epilogue of episode 6, where the old manager gave Jun Ji Hyun‘s character, Chun Song Yi, a letter for her new manager. This was a reference to the “10 things” letter Cha Tae Hyun‘s character famously wrote in “My Sassy Girl,” where Jun Ji Hyun played the titular character.

Other references include the little kids having an “Heirs” moment in front of  the manhwa store and the offhand comment by Yoo Seok’s mother on how Yoo Seok (played by former announcer Oh Sang Jin) could have become an announcer with his looks.

Dream High

Another drama full of meta! How can we forget all those “Cinderella’s Sister” references (2PM’s Taecyeon was also in that drama)?

Drinking Solo

This one’s for all you “Signal” fans out there! There was a scene in episode 9 where Hana ended up with a plastic bag on her head after getting drunk. It’s a bit of a gruesome reference, but this scene was still hilarious!

The Legend of the Blue Sea

And just because Jun Ji Hyun’s awesome, here’s another one of her dramas! When Cha Tae Hyun made a cameo as a swindler, he called the mermaid a “bizarre girl,” which is the name of the movie they starred together in (also translated as “My Sassy Girl”).

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo

This was such a cute cameo! Lee Jong Suk made an appearance as the star shooter of Bok Joo’s school, a reference to his drama “W.” Bok Joo’s uncle also mentioned how he looked like the main character from a manhwa (or Korean comic).

Can’t have a list of easter eggs and not include this drama! I honestly think Eun Ji Won (who is a member of the band SECHSKIES) watching himself on screen takes the cake for one of the cringiest easter eggs ever.

Easter eggs are all over K-dramaland. Did we miss any of your favorites? Tell us in the comments below! Happy Easter, Soompiers!
