TWICE Dominates Japanese Charts Even Before Their Official Debut
TWICE hasn’t even officially debuted in Japan yet and they’re already taking over the music charts.
Their album “TWICEcoaster: LANE 2” was released on various music sites in Japan on March 31. Soon after its release, the song “Knock Knock” ranked number one on the Japanese iTunes K–pop Chart and even topped the realtime charts of Japanese streaming service Line Music. Another one of their album tracks called “Ice Cream” took the No. 2 spot.
On April 1, “Knock Knock” was introduced on a Japanese music program through Nippon TV, where the MC also got to discuss TWICE’s fashion. This is an exceptional feat because the show rarely talks about songs that are fully in Korean.
Meanwhile, TWICE will be holding their debut showcase “Touchdown in JAPAN” on July 2 after dropping their Japanese debut album “#TWICE” on June 28.
