April Boy Group Brand Reputation Rankings Revealed

April’s brand reputation rankings for boy bands were published with a new entry making it into the top three.

The Korean Business Research Institute analyzed big data from March 7 to April 8 for the categories of participation, communication, and community awareness. There was a 5.48% decrease in the data collected for this month’s rankings compared to the last. The brand rankings are an indicator of the influence the boy band will have on consumer purchasing behavior.

First place went to BTS once again, who received a 7,899,583 total score. The group was able to maintain their top spot despite the 34.43% decrease in their score from the previous month. Next, Highlight made their first appearance on the rankings and came in at second place with a total score of 6,782,585. Finally, EXO claimed the third place spot with a total score of 3,453,582.

The Korean Business Research Institute commented on the rankings and stated, “Although there was a decrease in big data for branding, BTS was able to maintain their first place spot due to their album data.” They further stated, “Highlight came in second place and showed many positive key words associated with the group such as ‘smiling’ and ‘thankful.’ In fact, 75.41% of the keywords they were associated with were optimistic.”
