"Ruler: Master Of The Mask" Unveils Stills Of INFINITE L's First Historical Role

Last year, sources confirmed that INFINITE’s L was casted alongside Yoo Seung Ho and Kim So Hyun in MBC’s upcoming historical drama, “Ruler: Master of the Mask.” Recently, MBC released stills of L dressed up in traditional clothing, giving viewers a better picture of what his character will be like in the drama.

“Ruler: Master of the Mask” is set in the Joseon Dynasty where the wealthy are trying to monopolize the kingdom’s water supply. L plays Lee Sun, the son of a lower-class citizen who has an ingenious mind and burning passion, which often proves to be a problem in his socio-economic class. In the stills released by MBC, he can be seen in scruffy traditional clothing with a serious expression on his face.

In an interview, L expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming drama. “I am glad to participate in an incredible drama and excited to try out the historical genre,” he said. He furthermore stated, “Being surrounded by such veteran actors makes every moment on set a learning opportunity.”

The producers spoke highly of the rookie actor and unveiled, “L is very serious about portraying his role to the best of his abilities as this is his first historical drama. He has shown a constant effort to improve his acting.”

The wait for L’s historical drama debut is almost over. “Ruler: Master of the Mask” will premiere on May 10 on MBC.
