Kim Chungha Talks About Life After Leaving JYP Entertainment

Kim Chungha recently participated in a pictorial for GQ Korea and sat down for an interview, where she described what her life was like after leaving JYP Entertainment.

The singer called herself a lucky person. “When I was a 19-year-old college student, I trained under JYP Entertainment. When I turned 20, I met my current company and the show ‘Produce 101,'” she explained.

In 2012, Kim Chungha won third place at a JYP audition. When asked whether she wanted to give up on her dreams after leaving JYP Entertainment, she responded, “Rather than wanting to give up, I just accepted my situation. The environment became unfamiliar when I moved to a new agency after my team [at JYP] broke up. Before the team broke up, the members were my last hope. It took me some time to accept the fact that this was gone. Right when I thought I had reached the end, I came across another opportunity.”

She revealed that she met her current agency’s CEO by chance while she was hanging out with a friend. She then joined the show “Produce 101,” where she became a member of I.O.I. “Truthfully, I had a lot of fear and had trouble believing in myself. I had to learn a lot of things. I lack in dance skills compared to my friends who are amazing dancers. ‘Produce 101,’ I.O.I, and my current agency prove that I’m a really lucky person,” she expressed.
