Minzy Opens Up About Her Academic Background During Her Trainee Days

Gong Minzy recently revealed her passion for studying on the latest episode of the KBS2 program “Sister’s Slam Dunk Season 2.”

On the May 12 episode, the cast was preparing for their girl group debut when their school girl concept reminded the singer of the studying she missed out on as an idol. Just last week, Minzy had shared she had given up several childhood memories as an idol trainee.

During the conversation, she was asked what her class rank was as a child. The singer then surprised everyone by revealing that there were only two students ahead of her, and that she was usually in the top three.

“When I was young, I was only ever in the [idol trainee] practice room, so I didn’t study [regularly],” Gong Minzy commented, adding that she worked hard on her own to catch up on the studying that she missed. “I received scholarships for three years.”
