Watch: PSY Becomes First Asian Artist To Reach 10 Million YouTube Subscribers
On May 29, world star PSY recently reached 10 million subscribers on his official YouTube channel, making him the first Asian artist to achieve this milestone.
To celebrate the historical moment, YouTube awarded the singer with a Diamond Play Button, which is given to individuals who reach 10 million subscribers on the platform. Following the honor, PSY posted a thank you video and said, “This is a true honor. YouTube has been an excellent platform and a ‘bridge’ that has allowed me to extend my decade-long career as a singer in foreign countries as well.”
As of May 29, PSY’s “Gangnam Style” MV has over 2.8 billion views on YouTube and holds the title for the most watched video on the platform. Furthermore, his MV for “Gentleman” recently surpassed one billion views, making him one of the few artists to have two music videos with views in the billions.
PSY also recently made a comeback with his 8th album, “4X2=8″ with the title track “I LUV IT.”
