Cha Tae Hyun Describes His Experience Working As Co-Director For The First Time

Cha Tae Hyun opened up about his experience with co-directing the upcoming variety drama “Greatest One-Shot.”

During the drama’s press conference on May 30, he shared that he sometimes felt a bit conflicted on set. “As an actor, I want to stop filming a scene, but as a director, I want to shoot a few more takes,” he said.

“Since it’s my first time working as a director, I want to try shooting a scene in several different ways in order to come up with the best one. However, as an actor, I know when I think a scene will turn out well so I try to stop filming at that moment,” he explained.

“What I know for sure is that I became nicer while working on this drama,” he added.

Cha Tae Hyun then revealed that his wife had called it a reckless challenge when he had first received the offer to co-direct the drama.

“However, I could tell that producing director (PD) Yoo Ho Jin really needed my help since he didn’t know how to work with actors. It’s a great experience for me, but it’s more important whether I help the drama turn out well,” he expressed.

“Greatest One-Shot” is set to premiere on June 2 at 11 p.m. KST after the prologue, which will air at 10 p.m. the same day.
