Best Friends Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong Gook on Competing Sunday Programs

Widely known best friends, Cha Tae Hyun and Kim Jong Gook will go head to head with each other on competing Sunday variety programs. Both are the same age and part of the “Year of the Dragon Club” (1976) and are known to be close friends.

Cha Tae Hyun is the new cast member for the second season of “1N2D” on KBS whereas Kim Jong Gook is a cast member of “Running Man” on SBS. Both programs air on Sundays at the same time.

Cha Tae Hyun is thought to be the hidden card of the new cast of “1N2D” season two for various reasons. He already showed us his great comic acting skills through various movies such as “Speedy Scandal,” “Hello Ghost,” “My Sassy Girl” and more. He also made guest appearances on several variety programs such as “Family Outing,” “Running Man,” and “Infinity Challenge.” There, he showed great wit and sense and fit in quiet well in the variety scene.

Choi Jae Hyung PD, who is in charge of the second season of “1N2D” says, “Cha Tae Hyun is one of the representative, jack-of-all-trades entertainers out there. He has an innate brightness and energy that can’t be overlooked. We think that he will be great in the new season of ‘1N2D.'”

On the other hand, Kim Jong Gook is quite the veteran when it comes to variety shows. His love-line with Yoon Eun Hye on “X-Men” became a hot topic, which led him to be cast in other variety programs like “Family Outing” and “Running Man.” With his exceptional athleticism and unexpected “cute” personality sketches, he is gaining a lot of popularity from viewers.

Both “1N2D” and “Running Man” are forefront variety programs in the Sunday night time slot. Many are anticipating these two friends as they compete in their respective variety programs.

Meanwhile, the new season of “1N2D” will air on March 4.
