Big Bang to Release “Special Edition” Album on Apr. 8th

Just when you thought Big Bang was about to wrap up their last album promotions, they surprise us with a new album release. According to their agency YG Entertainment today, Big Bang will release a “Special Edition” album on Apr. 8th with two new title tracks, “Love Song” and “Stupid Liar.” Also included in this 10-track album is Dae Sung’s first-ever solo song, “Baby Don’t Cry,” which was first revealed during the”2011 Big Show” concert last month. This new album will also feature three of the group’s latest tracks, “Tonight,” “Somebody to Love,” and “Café,” as well as Taeyang’s “I Need a Girl,” GD & TOP’s “High High” and “Oh Yeah,” and Seungri’s “What Can I Do.”

“Stupid Liar” was produced prior to the release of their 4th mini album and was close to being selected as the title song alongside “Tonight.” Based on a guitar riff, “Stupid Liar” has powerful rock beats that enliven Big Bang members’ unique vocal and rap sound. “Love Song,” written and produced by G-Dragon and Teddy, is a song that sounds slightly different from their previous tracks. The “I Hate This Love Song” image (see above) posted on YG’s official blog last week turns out to be part of the lyrics from this song.

“Big Bang will promote these two new title tracks for about three months. After two weeks of preparation, they will first perform at the SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on Apr. 10th,” YG Entertainment said. Due to their Japanese promotions in May and June, Big Bang will promote this album until May 1st. This is the first repackaged album (or compilation of their most popular songs) by Big Bang, so the group plans to make the cover design more special with added features in the album. The music video for “Love Song,” the first and only music video from this album, is scheduled to be released on Apr. 15th.
