JYJ Confirms Album Release for Later This Year

In a recent interview, JYJ have confirmed the release of a new, Korean album by the end of this year.

Speculations of the album release have been circulating for the past few weeks, but were recently strengthened when it was revealed that JYJ had been shooting a new music video and album covers. According to the trio, “Although it is good to fix the release date, it is still unconfirmed. This Korean album is being prepared in order to thank the domestic fans.” There is no word yet on whether this will be a full-length album, or a mini-album.

Korean press has raised the issue of whether or not JYJ will be able to appear on weekly music shows such as KBS Music Bank, the production staff of which were hesitant to invite JYJ, even when they ranked #1 on Music Bank’s “K-Chart” with “Found You“, reasoning that the song was not part of an official album release. C-Jes, JYJ’s agency, has recently replied, stating that “Hopefully there are not external pressure or prohibition this time.”

The members have all been pursuing solo activities lately, with Park Yoochun starring in the recently-concluded “Miss Ripley” with Lee Da Hae and Kim Seung Woo, among others, Kim Junsu reprising his role in “Mozart!” the musical, and Kim Jaejoong being cast for the upcoming SBS drama, “Protect The Boss“.
