Kim Hyun Joong, DBSK, Orange Caramel Ruled “Unsuitable for Minors” by Government

Songs by Kim Hyun Joong, DBSK, Homme, Block-B, and Orange Caramel have all been ruled “unsuitable for minors” due to its explicit content, the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family said on Tuesday.

Kim Hyun Joong’s “Please,” Homme’s “I Was Able to Eat Well,” and Jang Kiha and the Faces’ “Accept Me,” were deemed “harmful to the youth” because of their lyrics containing harmful substance. All three songs suggest drinking and smoking in its lyrics, according to the ministry.

The ministry rated “Before You Go” by DBSK harmful to the youth for its gambling and action scenes, saying it could possibly encourage violence and illegal gambling, as well as “copycat crimes” in the future. “Bangkok City” by Orange Caramel got the same rating for showing club scenes, while Block-B’s “Just Stop” was ruled unsuitable for encouraging “unhealthy relationships.”

Any content rated “unsuitable for minors” cannot be sold to minors under the age of 19 and also cannot be aired until after 10PM in Korea. Here are the videos by DBSK, Kim Hyun Joong, and Orange Caramel. Do you agree with the ministry’s decision?
