“K-Pop Star” Park Ji Min Finally Signs Agency Contract

Park Ji Min, the winner of the popular audition show SBS “K-Pop Star,” has finally picked her management agency.

SBS announced on May 21 that Park Ji Min decided to sign her agency contract with JYP Entertainment, and will start producing her debut album soon.

“SME, JYPE, and YGE all worked very closely with Park Ji Min under the understanding that the inaugural winner of the show must have a successful debut and singing career. They took into consideration Park Ji Min’s preferred musical style, and based on the discussions, she finally decided to debut through JYP Entertainment,” SBS said in a statement.

“As we’ve done so far, all three companies and SBS are closely working with each other for Park Ji Min’s successful future. That means, as promised from the beginning of the show, we will continue to work hard to make sure the winner of the show doesn’t end up being a one hit wonder but a true star with a long career,” SBS added.

Park Ji Min said of her choice, “This is like a dream to be able to join one of the three agencies that still makes my heart flutter. In particular, I’m very excited to be able to continue receiving personal guidance from Park Jin Young. Based on his training, I will do my best to learn more and show a more improved look in the future.”

Aside from Park Ji Min, the rest of the “K-Pop Star” contestants are currently in talks with other agencies for a possible contract. According to SBS, Baek Ah Yeon and Lee Ha Yi are receiving countless calls from these agencies and news of their contract is expected to come within this week.
