Shinhwa to Hold First Concert in 4 Years

Shinhwa’s coming back! K-Pop’s longest-running idol group, Shinhwa, will hold its first concert in four years on March 24, Star News reported on January 19.

According to the report, Shinhwa’s comeback concert will be held at Seoul’s Olympic Gymnastic Stadium in front of more than 10,000 fans. The venue, in particular, is where Shinhwa held its last concert in 2008 right before the members enlisted in Korean army. During the concert back then, the six members of Shinhwa (Eric, Lee Min Woo, Shin Hye Sung, Kim Dong Wan, Jun Jin, and Andy) promised the fans that, “Shinhwa will last 20, 30 years, and remain with you forever.”

More importantly, March 24 is the date Shinhwa was first formed. Exactly 14 years ago, in 1998, Shinhwa had its first debut performance, so this concert will also serve as the 14th anniversary concert.

Formed in 1998, Shinhwa is the longest-running idol group in Korean pop culture history. They never replaced their original six members since their debut, and with their outstanding talent, has been able to keep their position as one of the best idol groups ever.

Every Shinhwa member except Min Woo has completed their military service. Min Woo’s service will end in early March. The rest of the members are busy recording the new album. We’ll keep you updated on their new album and concert! Until then, enjoy their music video for “Brand New” below!
