T-ara's Controversial Greeting in France

Last week, T-ara flew to Paris, France, with other K-pop stars to perform at the KBS’s Music Bank in Paris.” Before the concert, T-ara had a short photo time with reporters. T-ara’s Eunjung shocked netizens and fans alike by speaking in Japanese in France.

They greeted the reporters “bonjour” (hello in French), but Eunjung thanked the press with “arigato” (thank you in Japanese). So Yeon added, “Arigato gozaimasu” (also thank you in Japanese). Both the press and fans were taken aback because they were expecting greetings in French, English, or Korean.  

Netizens commented, “It’s not even a concert in Japan, why would they speak Japanese,” “Japanese in France? How random…” “Not even Korean…what?!”
