"Running Man" PD Talks About Lee Kwang Soo And Jun So Min's Chemistry

“Running Man” producing director (PD) Jung Chul Min held an interview with Star News and discussed the chemistry between cast members Lee Kwang Soo and Jun So Min.

PD Jung Chul Min said, “I am consistently thinking about how to match the unique chemistry and character of ‘Running Man’ with all generations. We try to do some episodes like the original ‘Running Man’ and other episodes that make people say, ‘Is this ‘Running Man’? We’re trying to diversify.”

Jung Chul Min became the main PD of “Running Man” last April. The variety show started in 2010 and experienced great popularity as well as some difficult times. However, “Running Man” has made an impressive comeback and has tripled its viewership ratings since April.

One of the largest changes in the show since then was the addition of Jun So Min and Yang Se Chan. Jun So Min, in particular, is receiving much love for her quirky charms and being unafraid of wrecking her image.

PD Jung Chul Min commented, “We are thankful to each other. When [Jun So Min] appeared as a guest it was so much fun. I was drawn to her because her ‘Running Man’ character is the same as her real character. I think it’s a win-win situation.”

Lee Kwang Soo and Jun So Min recently filmed an episode in Indonesia. The pair lost a race and have to face their fears as they ride a cable car. While viewers previously loved the Monday Couple, they are now excited about Lee Kwang Soo and Jun So Min as the Traitor Couple.

PD Jung Chul Min said, “Their chemistry is so good even when you just place them next to each other. We had a comfortable and fun time filming them in Indonesia. A lot of Indonesian fans came to the airport. After feeling like Kwang Soo is a comfortable dongsaeng, I remembered that Kwang Soo is Asia’s Prince.”

The PD also talked about Jun So Min and said, “So Min also had a lot of fans. I thought that fans who care about Kwang Soo would be jealous of So Min but they actually love the Traitor Couple. Jun So Min was also surprised at the favorable response.”
