Queens Of Korean Dramas To Battle It Out For Monday-Tuesday Viewership

Actresses Jung Ryeo Won, Seo Hyun Jin, and Han Ye Seul will be facing off on Korea’s three main broadcasting systems during the Monday-Tuesday drama time slot.

Last week, SBS premiered “Temperature of Love” starring “romantic comedy queen” Seo Hyun Jin. On “Temperature of Love,” Seo Hyun Jin plays the role of an aspiring drama writer who starts a romance story of her own with six-years-younger chef, Yang Se Jong. The melodrama has tugged at the heartstrings of viewers with its calm, sentimental storyline, and recorded top viewership ratings for this time slot during its premiere last week.

Han Ye Seul will be making her MBC comeback in 11 years through upcoming drama “20th Century Boy And Girl.” The actress will play the role of popular actress Sah Jin Jin, who gets embroiled in a sex video scandal. With the combination of the character’s innocence and Han Ye Seul’s classic lovely acting, many viewers are anticipating Han Ye Seul’s comeback in a romantic-comedy drama which will premiere on October 2.

Jung Ryeo Won debuted in the girl group Chakra then solidified herself as an actress through successful dramas “Hello Francesca” and “My Name Is Kim Sam Soon.” Since then, she has taken on various roles but due to low viewership ratings, she has been better known to the public as a fashionista. However, she has taken on a surprising challenge by choosing to star in her first crime investigation drama, KBS’s “Witch’s Court” (literal translation), as a prosecutor. The drama will premiere on October 9 at 10 p.m. KST.

Han Ye Seul, who is best friends with Jung Ryeo Won in real life, posted on her social media about the “quirk of destiny,” how they are going head-to-head through their dramas. As the battle for this autumn’s Monday-Tuesday drama slot continues, it remains to be seen who will come out on top.
